Growsafe® Standard

Growsafe® Standard Course

This course is for agrichemical users working independently (ie with little or no supervision) with responsibility for a single site/property, and may have responsibility for themselves and perhaps managing or supervising others. Eight Level 3 NZQA credits are available for this course.

Growsafe® Standard Renewal

This course is for existing Growsafe Certificate holders wishing to renew their current certificate. You must have a current certificate, or it must not be expired by more than 12 months. Eight Level 3 NZQA credits are available for this course.

Growsafe® Theory Course

The Theory certificate is intended for those working in a management or high level administrative role in relation to spray application. This may include those managing or scheduling spray contractors or spraying staff. It is for those making decisions in relation to spraying but who do any spraying themselves (though may have done so in the past). There are Eight Level 3 NZQA credits available for this course.

Growsafe® Basic

Growsafe® Basic Course

This course provides practical, task-related knowledge and skills with a focus on agrichemical safety. The emphasis is on following workplace procedures and label instructions. For the practical component of the assessment, there are practical tasks on the day of course and after the course you are required to undertake a spray activity and provide your spray diary and documentation from your supervisor/employer confirming your competency Five Level 2 NZQA credits are available for this course.

Certified Handler

Certified Handler Compliance Certificate

The regulations require a 'Certified Handler' (CH) to handle acutely toxic (6.1A and 6.1B, or GHS Cat. 1 and Cat 2) substances. Certified Handler steps: 1. Learn and get independent experience* 2. Complete the CH application form (application fee applies upon submission) 3. Provide satisfactory evidence and proof of your knowledge and competence 4. Obtain yo certified handler compliance certificate *under the regulations a CH certifying compliance officer cannot perform your CH training.
